LUPINES AND FOXGLOVES OF ALL COLORS--THE SPRING CYCLE OF PLANTS BEGINS

One of the most exciting things I do in the gardens is watch the cycle of growing plants.  This time of the year, all the little seedlings have sprouted, and new little seedlings are green and growing.  The Lupine, Love-In-A-Mist, Delphinium, Columbine and Dutch Iris have all poked through the soil and are steadily growing.  Plants like the Poppy and Hollyhock started a while ago, and they are nice and green and quite big.  They will stay green through the winter.  Some of the daylilies are evergreen, and they will, too. The Hellebore is also beautiful right now--their glossy dark green leaves will stay through the cold months, dropping when they start to bloom in the early, early, spring.   When I see these starts, it just me know that spring is on it's way--something I eagerly look forward to!
