I don't know about you, but here in my neck of the woods, we have been having very frigid temperatures--below freezing! To help keep warm, try this great recipe for a hot chocolate that is smooth and very tasty~I got this recipe many years ago from a friend. It's been my favorite mix for hot chocolate ever since. I really like what the malted milk powder and crushed buttermints add to the richness and body of the hot chocolate. It makes a huge batch--enough to store through the winter. We have also given it in cute ceramic cups with the instructions on, for special gifts to friends and neighbors through the winter months. It's perfect for those cold winter days and nights!
MY FAVORITE HOT CHOCOLATE MIX
2 cups instant malted milk powder (I like Ovaltine or Carnation)
3 cups instant dry milk
1 cup pre-sweetened Nestles Quick
1/2 cup buttermints
Blend 1 cup dry instant malted milk and mints in blender. Blend completely together. Pour into large bowl, then add the remainder of the ingredients and mix all together, blending completely. Store in large air-tight container. TO SERVE: Pour 3/4 cup boiling water over 1/4 cup of hot chocolate mix.
