Pulsatilla, a hardy, spring-blooming flower, with attractive hairy seed heads, is a relative of the anemone. They go dormant in early summer, and come in a variety of colors--rosy-purple, blue-violet, or white. The leaves emerge after the plant blooms, with soft, feathery fern-like foliage. Divide them only when necessary--and they like full sun, in rich, very well drained soil. They grow to about 15 inches tall, and their soft, silvery heads are beautiful the rest of the season, looking very attractive in your beds. I love this easy-to-grow, non-invasive perennial!
