With a few warm days, the blooms are busting out all over! We've had quite a bit of damage to various plants, trees and bushes. The iris won't be as prolific this year, some with only 1 or 2 stems, some with none. The roses, as I earlier posted on, were heavily damaged, and some may not come out of it. The verburnum, snowball trees, and flowering almond bushes were all damaged quite heavily, and some may not make it as well. And, heavy snow and winds damaged the tender shoots of the clematis, lupine, peonies and poppies. But, as other parts of my area have flooding, and with the damage around the country with tornadoes, I shouldn't be complaining. As I walk around and enjoy the blooms that are out, I am thankful for them, and realize that when we garden, there are just some things we have no control over. Pictured here are a few of the things that are presently blooming ~ Enjoy!
