GROWING DAHLIAS--BRIGHT BLOOMS FOR SUMMER THROUGH THE FIRST HARD FREEZE

GIANT Dahlias--bright blooms in every color of the rainbow except true blue--are well worth the time.  The tubers don't over-winter here in Utah, and so must be pulled and stored through the winter months in order to replant the tubers next spring.  However, their large blooms are a welcome sight in fall, and will continue blooming until it freezes.  And, an added bonus--the more you pick, the more they bloom!  I ordered a cutting variety this year--and so the stems are longer than usual, and have made it easier to make floral arrangements.  As always, I cut in early morning and use a floral preservative when arranging. I have ordered from numerous companies, my favorite being SWAN'S DAHLIAS, which can be accessed on line.
