DRIED HYDRANGEAS - Fall arrangements that last for years

Although the hydrangeas bloomed in the spring, if left to naturally dry right on the stem, they make wonderful fall arrangements. This week's arrangement consists of blooms gathered on a visit to Washington. Left to dry in a container in the garage, they look beautiful arranged in this ceramic planter. Even though they look fragile, they are surprisingly quite resilient, and can last in indoor arrangements indefinitely.

Arranged, as in a planter here, loosely arranged in a tall vase, or arranged on a fall wreath, these beauties will attract the attention of anyone who sees them. The best thing about them is the beautiful, muted colors that they fade into--blue, lavender, beige, steel, and rosy brown--a myriad of fall colors.
