Well, when the DAY LILIES start to bloom, they all bloom within a couple of days of each other, and it's nice to see the color in the gardens (although not a bit like the color of poppies, lupine, peony and iris). These are the newest day lily blooms, with only about 6 or 7 plants not in bloom yet. Day Lilies are one of the few blooms that I don't bring inside or put into floral arrangements. They are enjoyed only in the yard--but I do enjoy them! I especially like the pie crust ruffling on the newer varieties.
