IRIS - AN IRRESISTIBLE PERENNIAL!

I think IRIS, one of my very favorite perennials, have a place in every garden.  BEARDED IRIS come in the widest range of rainbow colors of any perennial--thus, it gets its name in honor of the Greek goddess Iris, messenger to Juno, who rode to Earth on a rainbow. They thrive in full sun, well-drained soil, and are an easy, carefree plant to take care of, being extremely hardy.  Their bloom is just starting here in the top of Utah.  I woke up to 5  plants blooming this morning, making a total of 6 now in bloom.  I can hardly wait for the next week or two, when they should be at their peak.  Pictured are Skating Party, Jennifer Rebecca, Eagle's Flight, Indigo Princess and Change of Pace.
