LOVELY LILIES - LOTS OF COLOR, LOTS OF FRAGRANCE, LOTS OF LOOKS

Thank goodness for the oriental lilies in these hot days of summer!  Their bright colors, sweet fragrance, and beauty brighten the gardens as well as my spirits.  There are many varieties to choose from--to name a few:  Orientals, OT (oriental/trumpet) and LO (Easter lily), they can be upward facing, downward facing, flat, or recurved.  All are beautiful in their own way.  Downward facing Indian Summer (OT), is shown above.  The collage shows others that are blooming in the garden today:  Holland Beauty, Fantango, Acapulco, Purple Prince, Avocado, Ortega, Satisfaction, Garden Pleasure and Miss Katie.  Casablanca, the most popular of all oriental lilies, as well as many others, are in the bud stage right now, and so many more blooms are fast approaching.  They are always the focal point of the summer garden, and get many looks of ooh's and aah's.  I order most of my lilies from B&D LILIES, out of Port Townsend, WA, where presently you can save 10% on internet orders: Just go to www.bdlilies.com and check them out.  Bulbs will be shipped for fall planting.
