LILIES - A SCENT-FILLED, LONG-LASTING-VASE-LIFE BLOOM

One of the reasons I like working with oriental lilies so much in floral arrangements is that they have such a long vase life.  It's not unusual for them to last upwards of two weeks if cut and arranged properly.  Since they bloom from the bottom up, make sure that your bottom blooms are fresh, and then the ones on top will open in a day or two. Remember to envision where those buds will open up in the arrangement--to make sure it will still be uniform.  Also, cut them early in the morning, and use floral preservative.  Another reason I like using them is their wonderful scent, which can fill up an entire room!  They come in a wide range of colors, and mix well with other blooms.  I especially like to put them with daisies, zinnias, glads, roses and baby's breath.   They are definitely one of my favorite flowers to use in arrangements!
